The Motherhood Foundation and ARM will establish a world-class International Museum Of Motherhood, in Seneca Falls in 2011 to display the herstory of North American Mothers, promote women’s studies and the evolution of family, while honoring the achievements of women who are mothers in perpetuity. However immediate goals dictate the necessity of a broad reaching internet campaign and virtual display of the initial phases of The Museum Of Motherhood to build momentum and generate a wave of interest that will increase the financial momentum necessary to realize this vision.

The first location of The Museum Of Motherhood was established in August of 2003, at 82 Main St. Dobbs Ferry, NY., comprised of a small display featuring Mom-abilia. Throughout 2003-2008 The Museum Of Motherhood has striven to establish a credible board of directors and founding research committee, with both social and educational significance, in order to begin the documentation of the historical journey of The Mother's evolving role, as it pertains to women's circumstances, environment, responsibilities, health, significance, influence, position, and creativity, while researching the feasibility of virtual and physical displays.

Development of the virtual Museum is ongoing. By collecting and organizing content from multiple educational, historical and cultural sources, the Museum is prepared to disseminate information for the purposes of ongoing displays with rich and rewarding content, which will ultimately lead to the addition of a permanent physical location.

The Museum is the place for members of multiple women-based organizations(Motherhood Foundation, ARM, Office For Women, Mamapalooza, etc) andall who have an appreciation of Women who are Mothers and their achievements, to see an outstanding collection of educational and arts accomplishments of women and learn more about the Museum and its beautiful presentations and products.

Building financial momentum for The Museum Of Motherhood will enable the organization to continue to build its collection, maintain an archives, purchase and renovate a building in Seneca Falls, NY, the birthplace of women’s rights and home to the National Women’s Hall of Fame, establish an endowment, and hire professional staff—among other accomplishments.

The Motherhood Foundation
and ARM are currently poised to move the museum forward in decisive ways. To achieve its mission to preserve, collect and interpret related materials and information, specific to mothers who have made a difference in education, literature, arts, music, and politics, the Foundation recognizes that it must make plans for the facility’s future. The  strategic plan for the museum envisions a variety of exciting prospects: members and a general public that are aware of and support the museum, educational programs and exhibits that engage all who view them, special events and conventions, and a superlative collection that is well administered. These goals will be realized through the prudent management and steady increase of financial, administrative, and personnel resources and over the next three years will enable The Motherhood Foundation and ARM to make The Museum Of Motherhood the best it can be.
