As you now doubt have heard ARM and the Motherhood Foundation have launched the  Museum of Motherhood (MOM) Initiative.

We hope to "break ground" for the virtual museum by the end of the year. Plans for the Museum in Seneca Falls is also well underway. We are currently establishing the academic committee for the virtual/actual museum. The committee will be made up of approximately ten scholars from a wide range of academic disciplines. The mandate of the committee is develop and oversee the content of both museums. This fall, the committee will decide upon the first 1-2 exhibits for the virtual museum (such as history of motherhood, motherhood movement), and select the individual to curate this exhibit. We plan to have the first exhibit on the site by spring.

 

We are currently accepting applications to sit on this board. The board will require approximately 5-10 hours of meetings per month (email/conference call) over the next year and a meeting in Seneca Falls in the next year. The  position is a two year term, with a possible renewal. We are seeking scholars from a wide range of disciplines such as history, literature, sociology and so on.
